We all need a clear real-time vision and understanding of our environment : state agencies and institutions make best use of geospatial information to make the right decisions in terms of national planning and development; earth observation (EO) also requires relevant geodata exchange; even Defense needs it to safeguard public safety. Besides companies increasingly monitor their employee and equipment mobility thanks to similar data.

It is therefore obvious that the need for actually shared geospatial information is critical and reaching such an objective implies as well relevant data as efficient architectures that are genuinely interoperable.
